Today class 1 spent a day immersed in the past. Children dressed up, the teachers dressed up, and a lot of fun was had! In the morning, the children had lessons which were more like classrooms 40 years ago – they experienced number work, shape work, writing about objects and threading and pattern making.

The afternoon was spent playing with toys that the teachers played with when they were children. A very enjoyable afternoon was had by all, and the children shared beautifully and were very careful with the small pieces. They took the ponies off across the grass for a gallop, had a picnic with the dolls, made houses, played with sand and water and created some wonderful games full of chatter and teamwork. Some children also had a chance to make a few stitches when learning to sew!
