Medicines

If your child needs to finish a prescribed course of medicine, that requires a minimum of FOUR doses throughout the day, then the medicine may be brought to school provided that it is in the original packaging clearly labelled with the child’s name and the prescribed dose.  Parents will be asked to complete a Med1 Form authorising staff to administer the medicine.

The School Administrator will administer the medicine.
Medicines are kept in the office and must be given initially to the School Administrator.

Individual Inhalers must be clearly labelled and kept in the designated Asthma box in the Classroom. Children are monitored using their inhaler with details recorded.  Parents are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure their child has an in date working inhaler at all times in school and spacers are required to ensure maximum effectiveness.
