Year 4 Spring Explorers - Tuesday 6th May 2025!

Our Year 4 pupils (from both Class 3 and Class 4) will be attending a 'Spring Explorer' session at Chetwynd Deer Park in Newport on Tuesday 6th May 2025! UPDATE FROM CHETWYND DEER PARK- As children will be pond dipping, they will need to attend in wellies!

Dear parents and carers,

YEAR 4 – SPRING EXPLORERS

We are delighted to announce, our Year 4 pupils (from both Class 3 and Class 4) will be attending a 'Spring Explorer' session at Chetwynd Deer Park in Newport on Tuesday 6th May 2025!

Chetwynd Deer Park is a historic 200-acre park with glorious woodland and open space and the children will engage in activities (led by experienced Forest School staff) viewing the park as it emerges into Spring.

This 'Spring Explorer' single session will take place during the afternoon of the school day.  The children will be transported to the park via coach and will be accompanied by members of school staff.  To accommodate their visit, all children will enjoy their normal lunch provision, slightly earlier.

Please be aware that the children will spend the afternoon outside in a forest environment and although they are not required to wear school uniform, they will need to wear suitable outdoor clothes (long-sleeved top, school jumper or cardigan and full-length trousers please, NO jeans).

They will also need a suitable outdoor coat, sensible footwear (such as wellies) and suitable socks.

UPDATE FROM CHETWYND DEER PARK- As children will be pond dipping, they will need to attend in wellies!

They will also need a spare set of clothing, including footwear as they may get wet and/or muddy!

**They may also require a waterproof coat and trousers or possibly, a sun hat and sun cream, weather dependent! **

Please ensure children have a labelled water bottle (no glass please) to drink during the afternoon.

As this is part of the curriculum, St Luke’s School Fund are covering the total cost of this event so no contributions are required from parents however you must confirm your consents by completing the details on ParentPay or your child will be unable to attend.

We will be photographing pupils participating in activities throughout the morning but if you do not wish your child to be included, please ensure you carefully check and annotate ParentPay accordingly.  If you change your mind regarding photographs at any point, please contact St Luke’s prior to the event.

If you have any queries, please contact the school office.

Kind regards,

Miss L Evans
