Plans to join Our Lady Help of Christians Multi Academy Trust

A letter from Mrs P Heffernan, the federation Chair Of Governors, explaining the Governing Bodies decision to join the Our Lady Help of Christians Multi Academy Trust.

Dear parent/carer

Plans to join Our Lady Help of Christians Multi Academy Trust

I hope you are well and have enjoyed the summer holidays with your family.

I wanted to let you know that Governors have decided to seek Diocesan consent to join the academy chain of Our Lady Help of Christians (OLHOC), based in Cheshire. We will submit our Stage 1 Form to the September meeting of the Diocesan Trustees: if we receive consent to proceed, it is likely to take several months for formalities to be completed.

This basically means, if our application is successful, we will join a growing number of schools who are within the Multi Academy Trust of Our Lady Help of Christians. It is Government policy that all schools will be within an academy chain by 2030: there are an increasing number of schools moving from Local Authority control to an academy chain.

It is likely that you will see little change in our school: Governors and staff will remain in place. All members of the school community will be fully consulted as we go through the academy application process. Mark Mountcastle, the Chief Executive Officer of OLHOC, will be meeting with staff and parents in the autumn term: he is best placed to answer your questions.

Best wishes

Pauline Heffernan
