KS2 Swimming Lessons starting Monday 15th April 2024

Classes 3, 4 and 5 will begin swimming lessons on Monday 15th April 2024

Dear parents and carers,

 

KS2 Swimming Lessons

 

Classes 3, 4 and 5 will begin swimming lessons after the Easter Break.

 

The first lesson will be on Monday 15th April 2024 and there will be eight lessons in total (excluding Monday 6th May, Bank Holiday- Monday 27th May, half term and Monday 3rd June, PD day with the last session taking place on Monday 24th June 2024.

 

All children will need to bring a towel and a swimsuit (no bikinis please).

 

For children with long hair, please ensure your child either has a bobble to tie their hair up securely or if they prefer, a swimming hat.  Please make sure your children have their goggles and armbands if needed.

 

Lessons will take place during school hours and children will have their normal lunch arrangements and the end of day home time collection routine from the main playground will remain the same.

 

This year, children and staff will be transported by coach, to Short Wood Primary School for their lessons while Oakengates Leisure Centre is refurbished.

Swimming lessons are enjoyed as part of the National Curriculum and your child(ren) should attend, regardless of ability.
