Physical Education, Games & Sport

Our scheme of work for PE includes gymnastics, games, dance, athletics, swimming and outdoor pursuits (for children in Year 6). Each class has two PE lessons per week of approximately 45 minutes duration. One of these may be an outdoor games lesson. Clubs are run after school or at lunch time to coach children in various sports. Details are sent to parents at the beginning of term.
There are 10 swimming lessons for children in Key Stage 2 every summer term at Oakengates Leisure Centre. By the time children leave St. Luke’s nearly all are competent swimmers. We run school teams in football and multi-sports.
